Courses are held for employer and retirement fund groups. We also hold public workshops for individuals, which we advertise on Facebook, Linked in and on this site.  We are developing short courses and on-line training.

Full retirement training workshops.

Duration – one day

Comprehensive notes are supplied.  Seminars are available in English, Afrikaans and or appropriate vernacular languages.

These are available as in-house courses or courses open to the public for individuals and employers/funds who haven’t enough delegates to merit an in-house course

Our retirement planning seminars cover:

  • Establishing a common definition of retirement;
  • How to see if you are on track to a comfortable retirement;
  •  How to draft and manage your own financial plan;
  • The decisions that need to be made at retirement, and how to avoid the pitfalls;
  • Why so few people can retire with financial independence;
  • Coping with risks before and after retirement
  • Different generic investment savings products and how best to apply them;
  • Psychological and emotional preparation;
  • Tax at retirement and clarification of the latest tax changes;
  • Different generic pension products and how best to apply them.

HR employee training in basic retirement planning.

Duration one day

Comprehensive notes are supplied.  Seminars are available in English, Afrikaans and or appropriate vernacular languages.

These courses cover the following subjects but do not include specific administration training as this can differ from fund to fund and such training needs to be provided by the retirement fund administrators.

  • The difference between advice and education;
  • What is counselling?
  • Fund choices that members must make both before and at retirement;
  • The concept of living standard in retirement;
  • Aspects of the emotional side of retirement that HR can help with
  • Revisiting S37C. Death benefit distribution and the importance of beneficiary nominations.  Up to date definition of dependents.

On-line complete retirement training workshops: in five units.

Duration – However long it takes to work through the five units.

Although the units are structured to provide the full course in its usual sequence each unit may be viewed separately as a complete segment.
